Step-by-step guide

Supported Formats, Processing Boundaries & Limitations

What ArtCraft AI Online has verified: input/output formats, browser vs cloud processing, free vs paid, Live/Beta status, and when not to rely on Alpha Craft editors alone.

Updated 2026-10-16

Follow the steps below, then open the real app to complete the task.

Open capability matrix

Start here: the live matrix

The canonical, page-readable matrix lives at Capabilities. This guide explains how to read it and how it maps to real tasks.

Use the matrix when you need to know:

Which tools are Live vs Beta
Whether processing is browser-side or cloud
What is free vs what costs credits / Pro
Known limitations before you trust an export

Browser-side vs cloud (do not mix habits)

| Class | Tools | What happens to files | | --- | --- | --- | | Browser | GridCraft, WordCraft, DeckCraft, PdfCraft merge/optimize | Local pickers / downloads; PdfCraft uses pdf-lib in the client | | Cloud | Background remover, white pack, scene, generate, inpaint, upscale, bulk | Images upload for inference (currently Fal) | | Copilot | GridCraft (GA) | May send tool results such as cell text — not a silent whole-file upload |

Do not put ID documents through rembg. Do not assume PdfCraft privacy rules apply to PhotoCraft.

Core task → tool map

| Task | Tool | Guide | | --- | --- | --- | | Open XLSX without Excel | GridCraft | Open XLSX online | | Convert CSV → XLSX | GridCraft | Convert CSV | | Merge PDFs without upload merger | PdfCraft | Merge PDF | | Remove product background | Background remover | Rembg guide | | White marketplace plate | White background pack | White pack guide |

Verifiable evidence on this site

Rembg before/after: /imgs/cases/* (also on Capabilities)
Public fixtures: /samples/pdf-a.pdf, /samples/pdf-b.pdf, /samples/demo-orders.csv

What we will not claim

“100% local AI for every tool”
“Pixel-perfect Word/PowerPoint compatibility”
“AI Copilot on every Craft app” — GridCraft only is generally available today
