How to Merge PDF Files Online Without Uploading Them
Combine multiple PDFs in your browser with PdfCraft. Merge runs client-side with pdf-lib — PDF bytes are not sent to our AI servers.

To merge PDFs in the browser with ArtCraft PdfCraft:
- Open PdfCraft Online (or the PdfCraft panel on the homepage).
- Switch to Merge and add two or more PDF files.
- Keep the list order as the page order you want.
- Run Merge and download
merged.pdf.
Merge is implemented with pdf-lib in the client (src/lib/pdf-client.ts). Those PDF bytes are not sent to Fal or our AI job pipeline.
Why “without uploading” matters
Many “free PDF merger” sites upload your files to a server. For contracts, IDs, or medical PDFs, that is a hard no. ArtCraft’s PdfCraft merge path is intentionally browser-side: select files → merge in WASM/JS memory → download the result.
(You still load the ArtCraft webpage over HTTPS like any site. The claim here is about PDF payload handling for merge/optimize, not about never contacting a CDN.)
Step-by-step
1. Open PdfCraft
Go to PdfCraft Online and use the live CTA into the PdfCraft workspace, or jump to the homepage PdfCraft section.

2. Choose Merge and add files
- Select the Merge tab (not Optimize).
- Drop or pick PDFs (the UI caps how many you can attach — stay within the limit).
- Confirm each filename appears in the list in the order you want combined.
Need a different order? Clear and re-add files in the correct sequence (current UI follows list order).
3. Merge and download
Click the merge action and wait for the browser to finish. Your download should be a single PDF (default name merged.pdf). Open it once and flip through page boundaries between the source files.
4. Optional: light optimize
The Optimize tab rewrites a single PDF with object streams. It is a light client-side rewrite — not aggressive image recompression or “magic 90% smaller” marketing.

FAQ
- Are my PDFs uploaded to ArtCraft servers?
- Merge and light optimize run in the browser with pdf-lib. We do not send those PDF bytes to Fal or other AI providers. (Your browser still loads the ArtCraft page itself over HTTPS.)
- Can I reorder files before merging?
- Add PDFs in the order you want them combined. The merge follows the list order shown in the PdfCraft panel (up to the UI file limit).
- Does PdfCraft split PDFs or extract pages?
- Not in the current deployed build. Today we support merge and a light client-side optimize. Split/extract will get a guide only when that feature ships.
